Justice achieved for the late Stanley Schaufler
We are thrilled to report that justice has been achieved for local man, the late Mr Stanley Schaufler. Our Clients fought tirelessly to honour their father’s name and seek justice for him after he was exposed to asbestos whilst working as a boiler man at a Prison.
Senior Solicitor Stephanie Mort had a difficult job on her hands with this case, particularly because the Prison produced a ‘report’ from specialists confirming there was no asbestos present in the boiler rooms. However, Stephanie argued that the report was very poorly drafted and back in the late 1980’s when the report was produced, the methods for testing asbestos in commercial premises were not as thorough as they are nowadays and on this basis, the report was not worth the paper it was written on. With relentless pressure put on the Defendant, and after lengthy negotiations, Stephanie achieved a substantial settlement for Mr Schaufler’s family who were thrilled with the result and happy in the knowledge that they had fought for justice for their father and won.
